It’s very exciting. Here I am at the First International Babywearing Conference! It was very hectic getting here. My sewers and I have discovered (the hard way) that I currently have the only machine capable of sewing my baby carriers. The corners end up having 16 layers of fabric plus batting, and only the Janome can make reasonably neat topstitching. So, instead of having lots of things made, I only ended up with 8 carriers, 4 diaper bags, and some accessories. And, since my kids managed to get some sort of food poisoning monday evening, I didn’t have a chance to get things finished up and photographed.
BUT this is not a complaining post! I’m having a good time, and things are working out well. The exhibit hall opens tomorrow, we’ll see how that goes. If you’re in Portland, OR on Saturday come on down and see all the stuff. I think there are 16 babywearing businesses here, including Kozy Carrier, My Bei Bei, Gypsymama, and Zolo Wear. There will be a fashion show Saturday evening, with lots of beautiful carriers. It should be a blast!
