Balance like a Boss!

I am forever chasing that fickle thing known as B.A.L.A.N.C.E. It seems that there is never enough time in the day to do everything that I want to do. And let's be real, there are some things that need to get done that I really hate or just plain don't want to do. This adulting thing can be such a big pain in the butt! Hands up if you agree.

So, while you will never find 100% balance, you can find a level of balance that works for you. There will always be something left undone and there will always be things you wish you had more time to do...that's life and that's perfectly okay. Do not beat yourself up over it. Just own it and do your best to work with and around it. Ultimately, all you can do is your best. So as long as you are giving it your best effort don't sweat the small stuff.

So what can we do to find some semblance of balance? Here is a quick list of 5 things you can do to balance like a boss!

1. Disconnect

A tall order for some haha. It really is important. Especially for those of you that like me, are mompreneurs. On the weekends disconnect from the biz for a bit. Don't check you FB groups. Lay off the posts and just be present with your family and yourself. Do things that strengthen your bond with your kids and your partner. Go to the park. Bake cookies together. Set Saturday nights aside for movie night. Whatever activities recharge and reenergize your relationships. Ultimately it is the QUALITY time they spent with you that your kids will remember. That post can wait. That social media status update ain't going nowhere. So disconnect from things and reconnect with people.

2. Be alone

As stated above, when you disconnect it is also important to reconnect with yourself. So give the hubs, the kids, your friends and family your time and attention and do the same for yourself. Spend some time alone. Journal, meditate or just veg out for a hot sec.

  • Refuel yourself.
  • Get to know yourself.
  • Stop and listen to yourself.

These are all powerful tools to helping you find balance. Be still and decide what is and what isn't a priority for you. Hone in on what lights you up and what drains you. Do something that makes you happy and is just for you. Get a mani/pedi. Enjoy a bubble tea. Finally listen to that audio book. Fill up your cup so you can pour into all the areas of your life.

3. Explore the world

Go outside and get some fresh air and a change of scenery. Find fun things to do. Take a walk or a hike. Go window shopping at the mall. Meet a friend for coffee. Stay connected to the world outside your home. Connect with the real world from time to time. The cyber world will still be there when you return. Remember to live!

4. Have fun!

Joke. Laugh. Gather with family and friends. Be present in the present. Remember that fun and good times are part of the balancing act. Enjoy your life as you live it. Have fun creating memories and actually participating in the kickass life you are creating. Let your hair down. Dance a jig. Sing karaoke. Live. Love. Laugh.

5. Use your big beautiful brain

Expand your awareness. Read a book. Take a class. Badasses never stop learning. Watch videos, hire a coach, watch webinars and masterclasses. The more you learn and grow and develop yourself and your skills the better you can get at this balance thing.
